Symptom
After performing a backup with Microsoft's Windows backup application NTBackup, by invoking the Automated System Recovery (ASR), a system restore may incorrectly appear to be impossible because the TXTSETUP.OEM file for the installed tape drive is not available.

This tip is not hardware specific.
This tip is not option specific.
The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, any service pack
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Server for 64-bit Servers, any service pack
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Datacenter Edition, any service pack
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, EE x64, any service pack
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, x64 Edition, any service pack
- Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Professional, any service pack
Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Additional information
This tip applies to any current or further tape backup units.
Microsoft has advised that the presence of a TXTSETUP.OEM file is not a requirement for the ASR to function correctly.
The only requirement is to put a formatted empty disk into the disk drive.
